3 Quick Tips For Submitting a PHSP Claim

Submitting claims for a PHSP (like Corporate Care’s) is a bit different than your standard claims process, say with a large insurer like Blue Cross. It’s just as easy though. Below are three quick tips that will streamline your submission process.

  1. Get a Summary Statement From Your Healthcare Providers

Ask your healthcare provider(s) for this years summary statement. Pharmacies, chiropractors, dentist, etc can print off a recap of what you spent with them for the year. You can then use this statement to enter one single total on your claim summary.

  2. Combine Your Traditional Plan With a PHSP

Let’s say your spouse has a traditional plan (like Blue Cross) through their work. If there is a difference in the amount submitted versus the amount paid out, you can claim the remainder through a PHSP. For example, if your spouse’s plan paid for half of a new pair of glasses, you can claim the other half through your PHSP. Here’s how:

    1. Provide a copy of your insurer’s statement.

    2. Enter the difference between the total submitted and what your insurer paid out. No need to enter each separate line item.

    3. Skip the medical receipts! If they’ve already been cleared by your insurance provider, we don’t need to see them again.

  3. Keep It In The Family

As long as a claim is for a family member in your household, you can include it in your PHSP. You don’t have to separate the expenses by family member and list separate amounts for each member. Just enter the total of the medical bill and you’re good to go!
